A Letter to my Gwennie Girl

Dear Gwennie,

My sweet little Gwennie is 1 already.  What a joy it has been to watch you grow and interact with your sister Lorelai.  When you were first born, she was in love with you! She loved playing with you and you just crawled around and went everywhere she did.  We usually would find you in the playroom where you would crawl over to and play with the toys, try on shoes and put necklaces on. We loved watching you snuggle little baby dolls and hold them tight.  This was a very special time because mom worked full time and Daddy took care of both you and Lorelai.  I never worried about having to go back to work because I was so happy that Daddy took care of both of you and he was amazing at it.

We decided to put our house up for sale the year you were turning one so I was happy that before we moved we could have a little party for your 1 year birthday.  You seemed to follow in Lorelai’s footsteps and loved all things girly, so we had a pink theme.  I blew up pink balloons and hung them from the ceiling and hung pink streamers.  We had a dessert bar and my friend, Liz Jergensen arrived early to help set up.  We invited our closest friends and family to attend at the time.  Grandma and Grandpa McDonald, Grandma and Grandpa Sewell, Michael and Stevie, the Demke family, the Jergensen family, the Postoian family and the Giles family and the Fry family.  It was the perfect little party to celebrate our little Gwenners!

You didn’t quite learn to walk at one like Lorelai, you took your time!  Finally by 15 months you started walking!  But once you did you were off and running.  What a sweet and happy baby you were, and loud!  You loved to squeal and scream as loud as you could and it was so funny and sometimes embarrassing (like when we were in quiet church!!).  Even at 1, you had a huge personality.  Very happy, but very intense, if you were angry about something, everyone knew it!

Having you as my baby girl has been one of the biggest blessings in my life.  I love you more that I can comprehend and you bring so much joy to my life everyday.  I love you my little Gwennie Girl!

Love, Mom
