Lorelai's 2nd Birthday

MAY 2011
For Lorelai's birthday we decided to take her to Disneyland for the first time!  Our friends, Christi Postoian and Liz Jeregensen met us there with their kids KaiLee, MaKayla, Delani Postoian and Christian & Elyse Jergensen.  We spent the entire day wondering around letting Lorelai see all the sights as Disney.  She especially loved the castle and wanted to go see the princess castle right away!  We took her on Dumbo and Casey's Train.  She did not like Pirates of the Caribbean or the Pooh Bear ride!  I think going on rides was something she needed to get used to!  But she loved going on the carousel and meeting Mickey Mouse!
Just arrived at Diseyland with these 2 babes!  Lorelai was excited to eat some candy!

When we arrived, who should be there right in Main street?  Mickey Mouse!

On the actual day of Lorelai's birthday, May 1st 2011, grandma Susie has us over for dinner.  Every birthday should always include, singing happy birthday, opening a present and eating cake!  In this case, grandma got special cupcakes from Casey's!

A letter to you Lorelai from Mom:

Dear Lorelai,

It is amazing that two years have already gone by.  I truly felt like my life really began when I had you in my life.  It was like once you were there I couldn’t imagine what my life was like before you.  I always would say how much I loved each new month better than the last with you, but to see you develop from baby to toddler has been such a huge joy.  I love watching your personality develop and you learning new things every day.  You are the sweetest little girl and energetic toddler!  You have this sweet little voice that I love listening to and talk very maturely for a little two year old!  People are always amazed to hear how well you talk, especially since you look so long because you are so bald!  We constantly have you were headbands you are as bald as a baby!  Hahaha!  But I love your little round face and your chunky little body.  You love to investigate, but are still very cautious, which makes me happy to keep you safe!

Disneyland is one of my favorite places and I couldn’t wait to take you there.  For your 2nd birthday we thought taking you to Disnelyand for the first time would be perfect.  We also invited Christi Postoian and her 3 daughters, KaiLee, MaKayla and Delani to come as well as Liz Jergensen and her two kids, Christian and your best friend Elyse.  It was such a fun day!  As soon as we arrived Mickey Mouse greeted us on Main Street.  I couldn’t’ wait to take you on some rides, but you wanted to see the princess castle! Once your eyes saw the Sleeping Beauty Castle, that’s where we were headed!  I loved watching your eyes light up when we went to Toontown and saw Minnie Mouse’s house and Mickey.  We took you on Dumbo which you loved, and Pirates of the Caribbean which you did not like!  I think you were a little overwhelmed going on rides for the first time.  Both you and Charlotte fell asleep as did Elyse so Liz and I leisurely strolled through Disneyland while you babes napped.  It was such a relaxing day and so fun!

Of course no birthday would be complete without candles to blow out!  Since Grandma Susie and grandpa Vern weren’t able to make it to Disneyland they had us over to their house for dinner on the actual day of your birthday May 1, 2011.  She had Ariel, the little mermaid napkins and special cupcakes from Casey’s.  And of course, a few presents!  You loved anything Disney princess, especially Ariel!  It was a wonderful birthday!

I love you so much Lorelai.  You have brought so much joy into my life.  I wish I could be home with you all the time and take care of you, but I am so grateful that grandma Susie will take care of you when I go back to work in a few weeks and that Christi took care of you while mommy worked from the time you were 3 months until Gwen was born.  Grandma Susie will babysit you over the summer and then Daddy is going to be home with you and baby Gwen.  You are so lucky to be loved by so many people!  I love you my sweet little one!  Happy 2nd Birthday!

Love, Mom
