First Dance Recital

May 2014
Yesterday was Lorelai and Gwen's first dance recital!  They have been taking ballet classes at the Quenedit Ballet School here in San Antonio.  The girls absolutely love dancing, so they were very excited to begin ballet.  We we signed up for ballet late in the year and it was too late to order costumes, so we did not plan on the girls performing, but a girl in each of their class dropped out, which left extra costumes.  I'm so glad they were able to perform.  It was such a wonderful experience for them being independent of mom and dad, as they were backstage for hours before and during the performance.  And they both courageously danced on stage with their class!  I am so filled with love and honor to be their mom.  The theme of the recital was a "gala at the museum."  Each dance class was inspired by a piece of artwork under a theme of art genre.  The girls were both in the American Art genre.  Lorelai's dance was "Orchids" and was inspired by the artist Martin Johnson Heade.  Gwen's routine was inspired by the artwork "Lovely Cowgirls" by Jules Erbit.  Dance inspired by art, I was in heaven!
