Grandma & Grandpa Sewell Visit Sugarland

December 2014

My mom and Vern came out for a visit and they timed their trip perfectly so they could spend thanksgiving with us and then stay into the first week of December so we could celebrate some Christmas festivities with them.  So we got our Christmas tree and looked at Christmas lights in Galveston.

Christmas tree shopping.   I think we found one!

The girls found these little trees and were excited that they were just their size!

We went and saw some amazing Christmas lights out on the island of Galveston

Lorelai had to have her picture taken with the giant lit up lollipop

A Visit from the Lanes

September 2014
Sunday I had a breakdown.  I had just moved to another brand new city, my mom and husband had just flown out (Ian for his sister's funeral) and my mom to go home and I felt stressed, alone, and overwhelmed and my kids had just spilled an entire bag of fishy crackers on the sofa.  Crazy I know, but I lost it.  I told Ian how overwhelmed I felt, I was reaching my breaking point with having him gone for 6 weeks and my mom had just left.  He was talking to Doug, his uncle, relaying him my woes and next thing I knew, Amy, Kat and Wyatt were driving down to Sugarland to be with me and help me!  I was so thankful for this gesture of love, even now I know that it was no big deal for them, but to me it was the world!  We had a great time spending the week together and it was just the boost I needed!

Ian's Sister

The same night my mom flew home from helping me all week, Ian also flew away to Utah for his sister, Jeanice's funeral.  On September 17th, Ian's sister Jeanice passed away from a heart problem.  I wasn't able to attend the funeral, but it was nice for Ian to spend some time with his family in Utah.

They found lots of great pictures as they looked through Jeanice's photos.  Pictured here: Ian's mom, Debra, his sister Jeanice and brother Jason and baby Ian

My mom

September 2014
My mom is so amazing.  She flew out from California to help me unpack knowing I would be stressed out with unpacking an entire house while Ian was gone all day and night working.  Every move (and there have been a lot) my mom has been there for me, unpacking and organizing my kitchen and helping me with everything I need.  She is always there for me and this time she gave up an entire week and came to help take care of the girls and help me unpack.   She kept me motivated when I was so tired and didn't want to open another box.  She keeps going and going!  I can't say thank you enough to my lovely mom for all that she does for me.  I love you mom!

4th of July

We drove up to Oklahoma to spend 4th of July weekend in Oklahoma!  It was the perfect holiday celebrating with family, going to the local Yukon fair at the park, swimming all day and eating lots of food!  Amy's sister, Melissa and her family came over as well as Amy's parents Sandy and Larry!   Fun Weekend!

Loving the hotel and being sisters!

Oklahoma Weekend

Ian's aunt Gina Lowe came to visit Oklahoma so we decided to make a quick turn around weekend trip to Oklahoma to see her!
Ready for the 8 hour drive to Yukon!

The girls were so excited to stay in a hotel.  We stayed the weekend at the Fairfield Inn
which really felt like a fun vacation!
