Let Summer Begin

We are ready for summer to begin!  We ended ballet in the month of June.  Lorelai and Gwen really improved in their ballet skills and we just loved their sweet teachers at the QBS Ballet School here in San Antonio.

We love our pool here at our apartment building!  Charlotte finally got the hang of her floaties and floats all over the pool at 18 months!

We finally found a babysitter to hire and went out on a date!

Easter 2014

April 2014
We had a simple little Easter here in San Antonio.  Since we weren't near any family members, we had a little Easter with our family of five.  Charlotte and Gwennie had little colds, so Ian stayed home with them while I took Lorelai to church.  We had some simple traditions.  Decorated cookies (sugar cookies that Ian made), dyed Easter eggs and had a lesson on the true meaning of Easter and watched the video Because of Him.  It was a perfect little Easter Sunday and reminded me once again that my happiness and fulfillment in life is my family and because of my savior Jesus Christ.

Happy Easter!

Lorelai and I went to church just the two of us while Ian took care of the other littles
since I had such a hard week with my sprained foot I didn't get to buy any new Easter dresses
so L wore a oldie but a goodie.  My mom sent dresses but they didn't come in time.  But what I've learned
is that I need to just "let it go" so I did!  And it was fine!

This little walker!  Within the last 2 weeks she has really been on the move at 16 months!

Having fun picking through their Easter egg chocolates

I think they had more fun just playing with the eggs and seeing what surprises were in them

peek a boo!  Charlotte plays peek a boo and she says "bee boo"

Dying Easter eggs and frosting cooies in nightgowns.  Sunday night

Charlotte Shenanigans

Now that this little girl is on the move, she is into everything!  I love watching her test her limits and investigate the world around her, although it does lead to trouble sometimes!  Finally Charlotte started walking at 15 (almost 16) months!  And just in the last few days, she's really gotten the hang of walking and is all over the place!  I love this happy little babe!

She has figured out how to push this little stool around to get into whatever she wants

Anytime the pantry door is left open, Charley b-lines it inside to find treasures to discover.  Her
new favorite pastime is to take our snacks and put them in the trashcan.  I found 4 containers of
puffys, 5 fruit leathers and a couple protein bars in the trash the other day!

If moms not around, no problem, I'll get my own snack!

Look at that little face!  Up to no good!  The girls leave the fridge open and looked who climbed in

Here she is putting a bag of little Ponies in her onesie.  I think she hid about 5 in there.  She thinks this is fun, mom's not such as fan of this new trick because she has now decided this is a great idea with food too!

The girls left a bag of sweet rolls open, Charley just helped herself to the entire bag for a snack

She is constantly bringing shoes over to me wanting me to put them on.  Doesn't every
girl look better in heels?

I mean......can't even begin to get enough of this face

Pig Noses

So I sprained my foot and have been homebound for nearly a week.  Needless to say, we've all developed cabin fever in our little two bedroom apartment in San Antonio and are all going a little crazy, ok, maybe just me!  Lots of movies for the girls and snacking, while mom lays on the couch with an elevated foot. One of the movies they were introduced to was Penelope, the fairytale about the girl with a pig nose.  Our acrylic ghost chairs work perfectly for making great pig noses!

Cookie Baking

Ian has developed a huge love for baking.  Which is perfect, since I don't like to bake (or cook for that matter).  But he loves making cookies and giving them to other people, neighbors, friends, work etc.  The girls love baking with him and before they started, said "wait!  dad!  we have to wear our aprons!"  Well of course!  I had found child sized aprons at Anthropologie and they loved them!

the Home of Sisterly Love

Remember White Christmas: "Sisters, Sisters there were never such devoted sisters".... now I'm gonna have that song in my head all day.  I love that these girls are such buddies.  I always wished I had a sister growing up.  I imagined what life would be like sharing secrets, swapping clothes, and having someone that just gets you.  So I can't say that I wasn't disappointed when ultrasound after ultrasound came back with girl, girl and girl!  I love having girls.  We are loaded to the core with princesses, makeup, dress up and all things girly...and I love every second.
Auntie Stevie dotes on these girls and I love it!  She sent them bows from the movie Frozen and
they couldn't wait to wear them in their hair. They wanted to match outfits and bows.

Gwennie wanted to hold baby Charley and give her a bottle.  I don't think Charley is too comfy

potty talk!  found these girls just sitting here having a conversation.

Texas or Bust!

Ian decided to take a job with Ensign Group in Texas, as a healthcare administrator managing a short term rehabilitation facility.  We found out we would be training in San Antonio for 6 months and then once Ian was certified would be given a facility to manage somewhere in Southern Texas.  This is the biggest move and one of the biggest decisions we have ever made.  I have lived in a 60 mile radius in Southern California my entire life, so moving to Texas really made me nervous and anxious, but excited for a new start with Ian's job.  The choice to move to a state where housing is so much affordable and schools are predominantly ranked better was one of the leading factors in our decision to move.  This would help solidify me being able to stay home full time with my girls, and that was the most important reason above all else.  So here we go.  Texas or Bust!

Loading up the truck to Texas!  Thank you Randy, Dad and Vern for helping Ian

And we're off!  Here we go to Texas.  The girls are equipped with coloring books, snacks, candy
toys and all kinds of other goodies thanks to Christi Postoian and Leisa Plocher who put together
goody bags for them to take on the trip.

We made it to New Mexico!  Stopped to grab a bite at this yummy Mexican food restaurant

So happy to be free and out of the car!

The girls made it!  Playing around in their new room

Let the work begin
So happy to be in their own bed tonight!
